Go to 'News' page link above for other aspects of a recently added 2026 update. You can click back to 2024 via the 'Archive' button to read about some of my ongoing work, plus links to some recently published poems and stories. Check out embedded music MP3s you can listen to on the 'music' page, and two videos and some poem MP3s on the 'Wilful Misunderstandings' page. A couple of short stories can be found on page 2 of my 'fiction' section. More soon.
The 'Dodgy Reg' podcast is still available below. These stories were a project I'd worked on for a number of years. They feature my fictional encounters with a character who is a consummate conspiracy theorist. Each is written to stand alone, but they are an unfolding sequence in which character development takes place on both sides of the dialogue. Some of them have been broadcast on local radio, but this was my first (& so far only) attempt to make a podcast. The first episode appeared on Acast (& other platforms including Spotify & You Tube) on 30-5-23 & there are 14 in all. So you can binge-listen to the lot, either on the aforementioned sites or here, with the merest press of the grey button just to the right...
Any one who chances upon this site who is into comics may remember me as 'Dick Foreman', scripter of 'Black Orchid' for DC comics, along with occasional issues of 'Swamp Thing'. But now I go by 'Richard'. If you're interested, click on the link below to go to the first of a series of entries on my blog that tell the history of my career as a comics writer.

Welcome to the website of Richard Foreman, writer of 'Wilful Misunderstandings'. This site exists to promote the book and give a taste of some of the other creative works I've turned my hand to over the years.
If you'd like more information and an opportunity to buy the book click on the first button to the right of this box. It will take you to a page with links to the publisher's website where signed copies can be ordered, and to my blog which commenced with a series of pieces about how the book was conceived and written. Scroll down and you will find quotes from reviewers, other writers and readers of the book; links to videos of live readings of the stories; and finally transcripts of reviews that have so far appeared in print or online.
The 'news' link button will take you to updates on my activities - public appearances and ongoing projects. The rest are pretty much self explanatory.

On August 29th, I will be launching my new book of poems, 'Beholders' in the Garden Room, at Shaftesbury Museum (located at the top of the town's... erm... iconic Gold Hill. The book will contain 39 poems, old and new, on themes related to 'people & their works'. I'll be giving a preview reading (& hopefully selling a few advance copies) at the Shaftesbury Fringe on July 18th, & I'll be featuring the book as a guest reader, probably on the Saturday night, at the Tears in the Fence poetry festival which runs from 4th to 6th September this year. More details on the 'News' page, which you can click on via the button above.
